At this time, there are no changes to normal operations for the Tuscaloosa County School System for Monday, January 26, 2026.
Throughout the weekend, the Tuscaloosa County School System will continue to monitor weather forecasts and will alter plans for Monday if needed. We will provide an update on plans for Monday, January 26 school operations by late Sunday afternoon.

The Tuscaloosa County Board of Education has selected Dr. Daniel Bray as the next Superintendent of the Tuscaloosa County School System.
Dr. Bray has served as TCSS Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction since 2021.
Dr. Bray’s appointment to the position of Superintendent is effective Friday, November 21.
The Tuscaloosa County Board of Education will hold finalist interviews for the position of Superintendent on November 4 and 5, 2025.
The Tuscaloosa County School System is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Superintendent. Candidates must be committed to student achievement and building on the current educational foundation and accomplishments achieved and established over the past several years.
Deadline for receipt of applications is 5 pm CST on October 14, 2025.

After five years serving as Superintendent of the Tuscaloosa County School System, Dr. Keri Johnson is stepping down to pursue another opportunity.
Upon learning of Dr. Johnson’s upcoming departure, Tuscaloosa County Board of Education President Bill Squires expressed his gratitude to Dr. Johnson for her service. He also said information will be shared as soon as possible, regarding a search for the next Superintendent of the Tuscaloosa County School System.

The Tuscaloosa County School System has immediate opportunities for bus drivers and bus aides. We invite you to an interest meeting to learn more about becoming a TCSS Bus Driver or Bus Aide.
There is a chance of severe weather for our area this evening, March 4, 2025. Individual athletic events may be rescheduled. Coaches will provide information to teams on specific events.
There are no changes to the school day for Tuesday, March 4, and afternoon extended day programs will operate as normal.
Due to the extreme cold, all Tuscaloosa County School System schools and offices will operate on a two-hour delay Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
